Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is mobile dog grooming?
A: Mobile pet grooming is a luxury service bringing the salon to your door. Your pet will have one-on-one attention from an experienced groomer during the entirety of their appointment. This experience is entirely cage-free and all pets are hand dried (no kennel dryers). I only need a place to park my truck and mobile grooming trailer.
Q: Do you have weight restrictions?
A: I have a ~100lb weight restriction. I am willing to work with pups who slightly exceed this restriction as long as they are used to the grooming process and I can accommodate them in the mobile unit. Existing clientele does not have to worry about this new restriction.
Q: What locations do you service?
A: I provide services for Fort Wayne, Indiana and surrounding areas. Currently I make trips to New Haven, Waynedale, Leo, Huntertown, Ossian, and some areas in Huntington. I keep my service radius to 20 miles around the 46803 zip code. Appointments in some of the farther areas are grouped together to make routing more efficient. If you are outside of my service area, please feel free to reach out as I may be able to make the trip for an additional travel charge.
Q: How do I get a price estimate?
A: I have a price sheet listed under the “pricing” tab. If you want a more accurate estimate, you can text me a photo of your pet along with their weight. I spent a lot of time putting together specific estimate sheets to be transparent about my pricing, but I know not every pet is the same. If you ever have any questions please feel free to reach out. You can send me photos of your pet at 260-418-3859.
Q: What do I need to do to prepare for my appointment?
A: Give your dog plenty of time to go outside and potty before I arrive. Accidents are more likely to happen during the grooming process, sometimes requiring another bath which puts us behind schedule.
Q: Do I need to be present for my appointment?
A: If you’re an established client, we can arrange a key lock service if you cannot be present. Otherwise, I request that you remain on your property until the appointment is complete to ensure that I make it to my next appointment on time.
Q: How long does the process usually take?
A: Typically pet grooming servicing take between 1-2.5 hours. Giant breeds may take longer depending on their coat condition. The first appointment will usually take the longest as I am first getting to know your pet and establishing a trusting relationship.
Q: Do you need access to my water and electricity?
A: No, the mobile grooming unit is entirely self-sufficient with its own water tanks and generator. In the event that the generator malfunctions, I may request access to electricity.
Q: Can I use my own shampoo?
A: I use high-quality products and also offer specialty shampoos (anti-itch, fragrance-free, or hypoallergenic) for no additional charge. If you have a medicated shampoo you’d like me to use, I can definitely use that! I have flea shampoo on board, but require a +$50 fee for shampoo and a clean-up fee. Please keep your pet on a monthly preventative to keep fleas out of the mobile unit (oral tablets from your vet are my recommendation).
Q: What dogs would benefit from mobile grooming?
A: All dogs would benefit from one-on-one grooming! Specifically, this setting would be ideal for dogs with anxiety, special needs requiring more accommodating care, elderly pets, and so on! This is also a great option for owners who have limited time to make it to the salon or struggle to transport their pets.
Q: Why can't I be with my pet while it's being groomed?
A: For liability reasons, my insurance company will not allow anyone other than employees and pets in the grooming trailer. You are more than welcome to take a look before your appointment begins, but I am unable to have anyone step on board. Pets also tend to be more excitable and distracted when their owner is present, making the grooming process hazardous.
